Job summary

Overland Contracting Inc. is seeking a Laborer Apprentice 1 (Civil) for full-time work at the PJGTNEWNA site.

You will receive classroom and on-the-job training and shadow a Civil Journeyman to learn form work, rebar placement, embeds and anchor bolts in line with project plans and codes. Responsibilities include safe operation of hand and power tools, assisting with layout, and reading plans while adhering to specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 0-6 months of experience or 0–1000 hours working as a carpenter or similar civil craft.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search).

Responsibilities

• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble and install forms, rebar, embeds and anchor bolts; construct and install forms; ensure dimensions per plans and specifications.
• Follow safety processes and programs; report hazards; use stop work authority when needed.
• Assist in planning, lay-out and installation of concrete structures per plans and industry standards.
• Learn to read plans and specifications and develop understanding of contract requirements.
