Job summary

Jacobs is seeking Civil Inspectors for engagement on significant projects in the Nation’s Capital. You will support Project Managers with inspections and QA, fielding tasks from historical renovations to site compliance, using PMIS tools for daily reports and photos.

Applicants should have an associates degree or equivalent in construction, plus a strong civil inspections background; US work authorization is required. This role is onsite in Washington, DC with competitive salary and benefits.

  • Associates in construction related field, trade school, or equivalent certification.
  • Strong background in civil field inspections.
  • Authorization to work within the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Field inspection of historical renovations and systemic upgrades in occupied facilities.
  • Providing guidance on constructability and phasing of the work.
  • Scheduling, coordinating, performing specialized field inspections.
  • Inspecting work at the site(s) for contract and code compliance.
  • Utilizing PMIS tools for daily reports and progress photo documentation.
  • Recommending approvals or rejections of materials and workmanship as appropriate.
  • Monitoring labor and safety requirements.
  • Completing written inspection reports, records of defects; and omissions; and similar activities.

With experience in Civil inspections, this individual will assist the Jacobs and client Project Manager in matters related to Inspections and Quality Assurance on one or more construction projects. Specific tasks may include:

  • Field inspection of historical renovations and systemic upgrades in occupied facilities
  • Providing guidance on constructability and phasing of the work
  • Scheduling, coordinating, performing specialized field inspections
  • Inspecting work at the site(s) for contract and code compliance,
  • Utilizing PMIS tools (i.e., e- Builder) for daily reports and progress photo documentation.

The base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 to $115,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
