Job summary

Duit Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Civil CAD Technician to support survey and construction projects with accurate CAD drawings and technical designs for transportation, municipal, and site development.

You will collaborate with superintendents, surveyors, and project managers, create 3D models and machine control data, perform quality checks, and help produce construction plans while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in CAD software (MicroStation or AutoCAD Civil 3D) to modify drawings.
• Capable of capturing and revising detailed drawings for transportation, municipal, and land/site development.
• Collaborates with project managers, surveyors, owners' engineers, and superintendents to meet project requirements.
• Performs quality checks to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specs.
• Assists with design and quantity calculations to support planning and execution.

Job description

As a Civil CAD Technician, you will be crucial in supporting our survey and construction projects. Work collaboratively with superintendents, surveyors, and project managers to deliver accurate, high-quality CAD drawings and technical designs specifically for construction. Your contributions help ensure that projects are built precisely, comply with regulations, and are executed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Strong proficiency in MicroStation or other CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D) to modify CAD drawings for survey and construction projects.
• Capture and revise detailed technical drawings from the owner for transportation, municipal, and land/site development projects.
• Work closely and collaborate with project managers, surveyors, owners' engineers, and superintendents to understand project requirements.
• Create precise survey drawings, cross sections, 3D Models, volume calculations, typical section templates and other project documentation.
• Perform quality checks on all drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and regulations.
• Assist with design and quantity calculations to support project planning and execution.
• Communicate effectively to maintain organized project files and documentation.
• Assist in preparing construction plans, technical documents, and other deliverables.
• Perform field checks, if needed, to ensure data accuracy for ongoing survey and construction work.
• Help maintain organized project files and documentation for easy access and future reference.
• Create 3D Machine control models for Field equipment using plans provided by engineers and other forms, ensuring accuracy with existing conditions.
• Work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times
• Follow specific directions and instructions from supervisors.
• Perform various tasks and duties that may change often as the work conditions require.
• Work within defined standards of accuracy.
• Work in various weather conditions, including temperatures over 85 and below 40 degrees.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
• See and hear well (naturally or with correction.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, CAD Drafting, or a related field from an accredited institution. (Preferred but not required)
• Previous experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, GEOPAK, and/or OpenRoads software.
• 5 Years of experience in the field of Civil CAD drafting
