Job summary

RSI is seeking a Civil-Hydrologic Engineer in Westminster, CO to serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the AS&T program. The role involves hydrologic analyses, forensic investigations, risk assessments, and regulatory interfacing with NRC and EPA. Collaboration with senior scientists and mentoring of engineers are expected.

Responsibilities include leading field investigations, applying advanced soil mechanics to disposal cells, and developing guidance over long regulatory timeframes. Travel <35% and a strong compliance focus are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Civil/Environmental Engineering or reclamation of legacy waste sites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrologic analyses of disposal cell covers and erosion protection systems.
• Lead forensic investigations, root-cause analyses, and risk assessments.
• Apply soil/rock mechanics to evaluate disposal cell performance over regulatory timeframes.
• Author programmatic tools and interface with regulatory bodies (NRC, EPA).
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with project managers to keep field work on scope.
