Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in the West Region seeks a professional engineer/scientist to lead hydraulics and hydrology work for river basin studies, watershed plans, and floodplain studies. You will support conservation technical assistance and water resources projects.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering program or equivalent with calculus and engineering science courses.
  • Professional registration (EI/EIT/PE) or evidence of FE exam or other licensure is acceptable for qualification.
  • Experience in hydrologic analysis and watershed/ flood-related projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrologic analysis and modeling for rainfall-runoff and flood evaluations.
  • Prepare designs and specifications for watershed protection and flood control measures.
  • Develop cost estimates and technical design packages compliant with NRCS standards; conduct field investigations.
