Job Description:

Heavy Civil Equipment Operators work under the supervision of the jobsite foreman, superintendent, and project manager. Responsibilities include operating equipment such as excavators, dozers, haul trucks, and water trucks. The role involves physical labor, including lifting, pulling, digging, site cleaning, and equipment maintenance. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening, lift 50 lbs., and prioritize safety. The typical work schedule is 50-60 hours per week.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

1. Adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times.
2. Perform duties assigned by the supervisor.
3. Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
4. Use tools safely to prevent injuries and property damage.
5. Conduct daily equipment and tool inspections; ensure cleanliness and proper storage.
6. Maintain cleanliness at the job site.
7. Complete tasks efficiently and timely.
8. Prepare construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting.
9. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or trade training is a plus.
10. OSHA 10/30 certification is preferred but not required.
11. Must be 18 years or older.
12. Possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
13. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
14. Excellent communication skills with all management levels.

Working Environment & Conditions:

This role requires outdoor work, often exposed to moving mechanical parts, vibration, wind, sun, rain, and cold weather. The employee must lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse conditions. Good manual dexterity and coordination are essential.
