Job Title: Civil Construction Laborer

Division/Department: Heavy Civil Construction

Reports to: Foreman/Superintendent

Job Classification: Hourly

Heavy Civil Equipment Operators work under the direct supervision of the jobsite foreman, superintendent, and project manager. Responsibilities include operating equipment such as excavators, dozers, haul trucks, and water trucks. The role involves physical labor, including lifting, pulling, digging, site cleaning, and equipment maintenance. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen, lift 50 lbs., and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety. The typical work schedule is 50-60 hours per week.

Specific Duties, Responsibilities & Requirements

1. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures at all times.
2. Perform duties as assigned by the supervisor.
3. Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
4. Use tools safely to minimize injury and property damage.
5. Conduct daily equipment and tool inspections; ensure cleanliness and proper storage.
6. Maintain cleanliness at the job site.
7. Complete tasks efficiently and on time.
8. Prepare construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting.
9. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or trade training is a plus.
10. OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
11. Must be 18 years or older.
12. Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
13. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
14. Excellent communication skills with all management levels.

Working Environment and Conditions

This role is outdoors, frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration, as well as weather conditions such as wind, sun, rain, and cold.

Essential Job Functions

• Lift heavy objects, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Perform strenuous physical labor under adverse conditions.
• Use abdominal and lower back muscles to lift, push, pull, and carry objects.
• Require manual dexterity and coordination.
