Job summary

Wilco is seeking a Gradesperson to join our civil construction team. You will work with Operators and Foreman to interpret project blueprints and ensure grades are achieved according to specifications.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork on diverse projects ranging from environmental works to park construction. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required, with opportunities for overtime and stable hours.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in civil construction with a focus on grade checking.
• Experience as a Gradesperson or in a similar role in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of grading procedures and earthworks.
• Proficient in using surveying equipment and tools (an asset).
• Strong math skills and ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform grades and layout measurements to ensure accurate project implementation using a level and tape measure.
• Measure and mark quantities of materials.
• Provide accurate cut and fill directions.
• Monitor grade elevations to ensure project specs are met.
• Maintain a clean and organized worksite and assist with traffic control as needed.
• Champion safety practices and foster a positive team environment.
• Maintain accurate daily records and site notes.
