Job summary

Wagman, Inc. in York, PA is seeking Civil/Geotechnical Engineer Interns pursuing a B.S. in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering to join our Heavy Civil team.

Reporting to field supervision, interns will assist with tasks from management and collaborate with the engineering team to move projects forward safely. This safety-sensitive role involves work on construction sites with hazards, requires the ability to follow instructions, and offers exposure to both office and field environments

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering to join Wagman Heavy Civil team.
• Ability to take and follow instructions and work independently.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Support our engineering team with civil construction duties and shadow day-to-day actions.
• Assist in preparing work plans.
• Track and record field production quantities.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs for concrete and earthwork operations.
• Coordinate subcontractor work.
• Procure materials and equipment for upcoming work and track quantities.
• Perform schedule updates and generate project progress reports.
• Perform document control tracking and processing.
• Takeoff tasks and investigate problems, proposing solutions.
• Prepare detailed requisitions for materials, services, and subcontracts.
• Interpret plans, detail sheets, and specifications for contractors.
• Review shop drawings, draft RFIs, and assist with submittals.
