Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. in Madison, WI is seeking an Entry Level Civil / Geo-Environmental Engineer to join our Geo-Environmental and Civil Engineering team.

You will assist with permitting, design, and construction for a range of projects across renewable energy, industrial, utility, and solid waste sectors. You will gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities to advance your career through certifications while contributing to diverse projects in the Madison area.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or Geological Engineering or a relevant field.
• Eligibility for or possession of EIT certification.
• Fluency with Microsoft Office software (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
• Valid driver's license without major violations.
• Have excellent communication and writing skills.
• Possess solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Staff occasional short and long-term field assignments.
• Occasional travel up to 30%, throughout the US, primarily in the upper Midwest.
• Minimum of one (1) prior internship experience.
• Knowledge of the use of AutoCAD software.
• Experience with Hydro CAD, Civil3D, or ArcView GIS.
• Experience with stormwater management design.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate (with an up to date 8-hr annual refresher course certification).

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations to support designs including geotechnical, stormwater, and general civil aspects.
• Perform field investigations and construction oversight for environmental compliance, geotechnical, and land development projects.
• Design stormwater management systems, layout grading, design renewable energy systems, and design solid waste management systems.
• Perform various project tasks including evaluating regulatory requirements, developing quantity take-offs, cost estimates, research, subcontractor procurement support, etc.
• Prepare reports, plans and specifications for client and governmental approvals and construction.
• Apply quality assurance and quality control processes.

Overview

TRC is seeking an Entry Level Civil / Geo-Environmental Engineer forour growing Geo-Environmental and Civil Engineering team, based in Madison, WI. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual looking for experienceand willprovide support for permitting, design, and construction of a widevariety of projects primarily for renewable energy,industrial, utility, and solid waste management clients. As an engineer on our team, you will apply your knowledge and develop new skills to support our clients' needs using TRC's constantly expanding collection of resources.

TRC'sGeo-Environmental & Civil Engineering team offers expertise in consultation, design, and construction for land-based engineering projects withinmany industries, such as renewable energy, solid waste management, large- and small-scale utilities, and local municipalities. We have been sighting, permitting, designing, and constructing solid waste containment systems since 1977 and have since extended beyond - always with a focus on safety, quality, and making the world a better place to live.

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation

Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
