Job summary

EWI Recruitment is seeking an experienced Civil General Superintendent to lead the safe, efficient delivery of major civil construction projects. You will oversee field operations from mobilisation through completion, coordinating supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, plant, materials and labour to meet design specs and contractual requirements.

You will plan daily activities, allocate resources, monitor productivity, review construction methods, resolve site issues, and ensure quality, safety

Qualifications

• Substantial experience supervising large-scale civil construction projects.
• Experience in general superintendent or senior site management roles.
• Knowledge of infrastructure, roads, utilities, earthworks or major structures.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant trade, technical or tertiary qualification plus site safety credentials and driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily construction activities and allocate resources to meet programmes.
• Coordinate earthworks, drainage, utilities, pavements and structures.
• Review construction methodologies and resolve site issues promptly.
• Inspect works, monitor progress and report costs and safety metrics.
• Manage subcontractor performance and liaise with project teams and clients.
• Lead toolbox talks and enforce safe work practices on active sites.
