Job summary

Castle Contracting is seeking a Civil General Laborer in the Omaha, NE area. You will support excavation and utility projects and assist on-site crews. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience on similar construction projects and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities include THA participation, tool use, training for fall protection, and measuring/cutting materials. This is an on-site position with opportunities for growth within a self-performing contractor.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial and civil construction projects.
• Ability to read and follow safety protocols on-site.
• Pre-employment drug screen required.
• Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization.
• Minimum age 18.

Position Summary

Castle Contracting is looking for Civil General Laborer in Omaha, NE area. The General Laborer supports the completion of projects by assisting on excavation and utility projects. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of previous experience on similar construction projects.

Castle is a self-performing contractor in the areas of underground utility work, site development, excavating services and mass grading.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in Task Hazard Analysis (THA) meetings


• Utilize common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools (hammer, shovel, water pump, measuring tape, hammer drill, saw, demolition hammer, etc.)


• Successfully complete required training to use personal arrest system


• Assist craft onsite


• Properly measure, mark, and cut various materials

Qualifications

• Must be a current member or be willing to join local #1140


• Knowledge of proper use of tools, materials, and supplies used on construction projects


• Previous experience in commercial and civil construction projects


• Experience in excavation/earthwork/underground utilities


• Proven commitment to safety and building relationships with a team


• Must have reliable transportation to the job site


• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule


• Must be self-motivated and can work well with others


• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency


• 10hr OSHA, Trench Excavation Training and Sewer Layer License a plus


• Minimum age 18


• Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization


• Pre-employment drug screen required
