Job summary

Quinn Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician to support highway and bridge construction and maintenance. The role covers planning, surveys, materials testing, and traffic operations, with emphasis on field and lab work.

The candidate will read plans, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with utilities and local authorities. Minimum education is an associate degree with at least two years’ civil engineering related experience, plus travel to various sites.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in civil engineering technology, construction management or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a technical civil engineering environment.
• Familiarity with erosion control, drainage, and grade work beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Performs and supervises materials testing in field and labs, including sample selection and documentation.
• Coordinates construction surveys, layout, staking, and as-built preparations.
• Reads plans and specifications; reviews consultants plans, specs, and bid proposals.
• Ensures OSHA and safety compliance; ensures availability of first aid and emergency services.
• Coordinates traffic controls and detours; inspects and enforces permit requirements.
• Inspects and records steel and concrete structures; oversees formwork, curing and placement of reinforcement.
• Manages bid proposals, cost estimates, and project scheduling; supports reviews and award decisions.
