Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Transportation Technician I to perform inspection procedures on roadway and bridge projects, verify conformance to plans and specifications, and support quality and safety on site.

Qualified candidates typically hold an Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Survey Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; NCDOT certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or related field.
• NCDOT certifications including Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician, and Conventional Density Testing are preferred.
• Construction inspection experience on NCDOT projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contractor operations on transportation projects (roadway and bridge) to verify conformance to plans and specs.
• Perform routine material testing.
• Measure and track quantities of pay items.
• Gather and maintain record documents including material certifications, testing reports, and inspector diaries.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
