Job summary

Carlson McCain, LLC is seeking a Civil Field Engineer Co-op for summer and fall 2027 in Plymouth, MN. The role focuses on construction oversight, plan review, documentation, and field data collection under senior staff guidance.

Extensive field work, potential travel, and outdoor conditions are expected. Lodging and transportation may be provided; PTO and other benefits are available depending on eligibility. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering or related discipline.
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and technical writing skills.
Able to manage time effectively and work independently.
Clean driving record and ability to drive company vehicle if needed.
Experience with CAD software is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide construction oversight, review plans/specifications, and document progress.
Take photos, prepare daily construction reports, and compile data.
Communicate with contractors and participate in construction meetings.
Assist with GPS surveying, soil/groundwater sampling, and field data collection.
Assist in preparing technical reports and maintain client communications.
