Job summary

McAninch Corporation is seeking an Estimator/Project Manager with experience in civil, underground utilities, and earthwork to oversee planning and management for Heavy Highway, Commercial, and Residential projects.

The role does not have supervisory responsibilities but requires coordinating with field operations, customers, and subcontractors to ensure safety, quality, and profitability. Travel up to 20% may be necessary.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in construction estimating or project management for heavy civil and site infrastructure.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with Viewpoint Construction Software, MS Project, Agtek, AutoCAD, or BlueBeam REVU preferred.
• Must have strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture; ensure crews follow company safety policies.
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs, budgets, and cost estimates for negotiated and bid projects.
• Develop bid packages; solicit and review subcontractor and supplier pricing; and make award recommendations.
• Maintain professional communication with customers, subcontractors, owners, and general contractors.
• Coordinate with Director of Field Operations and Superintendents on scheduling and scope changes to meet deadlines and profitability.
• Support project startup activities including pre-planning, scheduling, procurement, and crew coordination.
• Maintain accountability for project safety, quality, schedules, and change orders.
• Manage change orders and escalate to VP as necessary.
• Track budgets using cost-to-complete procedures and monthly reporting.
• Conduct regular job site visits to coordinate with field crews and verify quality and safety.
