Job summary

Kids for the Future in Texas is seeking an Estimator to assist with reviewing project plans, performing quantity takeoffs, and analyzing subcontractor pricing to develop competitive bids for civil construction projects.

This role requires 3–5 years of estimating experience, strong math and analytical skills, and proficiency with software like HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK GradeWork, and AutoCAD. You will collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure accurate cost projections.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3–5 years in civil construction, estimating or related field.
  • Experience with heavy civil sitework and underground utilities preferred.
  • Production-based estimating and equipment cost experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform construction quantity takeoffs.
  • Review drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine project scope and material requirements.
  • Estimating civil sitework, earthwork, concrete, and underground utilities for bid preparation.
  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
  • Utilizing software such as HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK GradeWork, AutoCAD for Earthwork and grading analysis and Cost analysis.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams through negotiation to secure favorable terms and clarify project details.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously by maintaining accurate records of estimates, revisions, and project documentation.
  • Develops and analyzes production rates to support accurate estimating and project planning.
  • Solicits and coordinates subcontractor and supplier pricing to support competitive and accurate estimates.
