Job summary

A family-owned heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator who understands field work and enjoys collaborating with people. This role is not a desk-bound bid-only position and offers visibility and direct impact within a tight-knit team.

Candidates should communicate effectively with field crews, municipal clients, and company leadership, while bringing solid civil estimating experience and strong teamwork to the project estimating process.

Responsibilities

• Estimate municipal wet utility projects including water mains, sewer, pipe bursting and directional drilling.
• Estimate excavation, foundations and site development work.
• Estimate water and sewer infrastructure and related site work.
• Include demolition, trucking, and environmental/site remediation in estimates.
• Review plans, specifications, quantities, labor, equipment and subcontractor pricing.
• Visit project sites and work closely with field operations throughout the estimating process.

Civil Estimator - Heavy Civil / Wet Utilities

We're partnering with a family-owned heavy civil contractor looking to add an experienced Civil Estimator to their tight-knit team. This is not a sit-behind-a-desk-and-push-bids-all-day position. They want someone who understands the field, enjoys working with people, and wants to be involved in the projects they estimate.

What You'll Be Estimating

• Municipal wet utility projects - water mains, sewer, pipe bursting and directional drilling
• Excavation, foundations and site development
• Water & sewer infrastructure
• Demolition and trucking
• Environmental/site remediation
• Review plans, specifications, quantities, labor, equipment and subcontractor pricing
• Visit project sites and work closely with field operations throughout the estimating process

Who They're Looking For

You’ll need solid civil estimating experience, but personality and culture fit matter here. They’re looking for someone who is personable, coachable and comfortable getting out into the field. You should be able to communicate with field crews, customers, municipalities and company leadership/board members-not just work behind a computer.
