Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Civil Estimator to support a growing portfolio of transmission, distribution, substation, and infrastructure projects across California and the Western U.S. You will lead complex bids, influence estimating strategy, and partner with senior leadership to drive growth in a firm with a strong backlog.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction estimating experience within utility sector.
• Experience estimating projects valued at $10M+.
• Strong understanding of civil scopes (excavation, grading, foundations, drilled piers, trenching, duct banks, paving, shoring).
• Experience reviewing drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, B2W, or Hard Dollar.
• Experience in California utility or infrastructure markets is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates for utility construction projects.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and RFP documentation.
• Developing labor, equipment, and production rates.
• Obtaining material pricing and subcontractor quotations.
• Preparing bid proposals, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Assisting with bid strategy and project selection decisions.
• Collaborating with operations teams to ensure accurate project planning and execution.
