Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking an experienced Civil/Environmental Engineer to own site development, civil design standards, and the environmental permitting process for capital projects. You will engage with USACE and state agencies, and guide internal teams and 3rd-party engineers through complex coastal and industrial site work.

Requirements include a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree, PE preferred, and 8+ years of relevant design/construction experience, with expertise in stormwater,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
  • Licensed engineer (PE preferred).
  • 8+ years of design, and/or construction of civil site systems for industrial, manufacturing, and/or port facility projects.
  • Experience with stormwater management, wetlands, flood plains, coastal construction and dredging, cultural resources, threatened and endangered species, and site resilience.
  • Experience with permitting processes including USACE, state DEC/DEQ, local AHJ’s.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development and maintenance of site, civil utilities, and storm water management design and construction standards for the company.
  • Own the environmental permitting process for site development on capital projects.
  • Participate in early programming and development of capital project scopes with focus on civil/site systems and design elements.
  • Develop permitting plan and approach for site development with interaction with USACE, State DEC/DEQ, local AHJ’s, and other agencies.
  • Support development and issuance of RFPs and qualifications for capital projects to 3rd-party engineers and contractors.
  • Review and comment on 3rd party civil and environmental designs for capital projects and provide SME input.
  • Provide internal design and documentation on small capital projects as needed.
  • Complete field visits during capital construction to observe installation and commissioning.
  • Design management of small capital projects as needed.
  • Travel up to 10% for project visits.
