Job summary

AZAD Technology Partners seeks a Civil Engineering Technician to support the Structural and Civil Engineering Group on substation and transmission line projects. You will coordinate drawings, documents, and project data with vendors and internal teams in a hybrid role based in Vancouver, WA.

The position is a 2+ year consultant with potential for long-term employment, 3 days on site weekly. Strong Excel, CAD, and VBA skills are valued for project tasks and data management.

Qualifications

• A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year engineering technician experience with related tasks.
• Experience converting legacy records to electronic databases.
• MS Excel with macros (VBA) proficiency required.
• Knowledge of 2D CAD platforms including MicroStation.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License or RealID required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate project information, design information, drawings and docs among group and external vendors.
• Support design of substations, transmission line structures, foundations and site work.
• Assist in maintaining project records and documentation

Join AZAD Technology Partners as a Civil Engineering Technician and provide experienced, technical, organizational and design support to the Structural and Civil Engineering Group. Work associated with this assignment will be directly related to design project assignments for substation structures, transmission line structures, foundations, and site designs as they affect the transmission system, with the primary responsibility of coordinating project information, design information, drawings, and documentation between the group and external engineering, structural materials, and construction vendors.

This is a 2 year plus consultant position with high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. This position is hybrid based in Vancouver, Washington with onsite 3 days per week. The hourly pay rate for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $5.09) is $46.57 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.

The ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications:

A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a directly related field is preferred.

1-year engineering technician experience; with ability to demonstrate proficiency for a wide range of project tasks.

Experience may include relevant on-the job experience as an engineering technician or experience in a closely related field.

Minimum 1 year experience in the following:

Experience researching and converting legacy records into electronic database form.

Experience using MS Excel to manipulate and analyze data manually and writing macros with VBA code.

Experience working in an engineering project team environment.

Experience using 2D CAD platforms.

Valid U.S. Driver's License or RealID is required.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in the Electric Utility sector with an emphasis on structural and civil design.

Experience in structural detailing.

Experience in the following:

MicroStation CAD platform or similar program and associated add-on products such as OpenRoads, etc.

Maintaining all drawing and engineering records using ProjectWise or similar document management software.

Knowledge of DOE, BPA, NERC, FERC, and other regulatory agency policies, standards, directives, codes and guidelines applicable to public electric utilities, power plants, and transmission systems to carry out a wide range of civil engineering technician assignments associated with structural and civil design and analysis.
