Job summary

NV5 seeks a full-time Civil Engineer-PE for its Cary, NC office. You will provide engineering and design support to Project Managers on site development and utility projects, with CAD design including road, grading and utilities.

Responsibilities include design calculations, collaboration with PMs, client and permit reviewer communication, and ensuring quality control. PE license and experience in Civil/site work are required or preferred depending on the candidate.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4 to 10 years of civil/site related work experience.
• PE license.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred) or MicroStation/GeoPak.

• Provide engineering design and calculations for site layout, grading, erosion and sedimentation control, potable water, sanitary sewer, stormwater drainage and SCM design components for site development projects.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation, Water CAD, Excel, stormwater modeling software and other civil design software.
• Complete project tasks within deadlines and budgets.
• Coordinate work with other project managers, engineers, and designers.
• Correspond with clients and permit reviewers under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Ensure quality control procedures are implemented.
• Market NV5 by involvement in professional and civic organizations.
• Other special assignments as directed.

Position Summary

NV5 is seeking a full-time Civil Engineer-PE for our Cary, NC office. The PE will provide engineering and design support to Project Managers on site development and utility projects. CAD design to include road, grading and utilities. The most frequent and essential work activities include:

• Provide all required engineering design and appropriate calculations for site layout, grading, erosion and sedimentation control, potable water, sanitary sewer, stormwater drainage and SCM design components for site development projects.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation, Water CAD, Excel, stormwater modeling software and other civil design software.
• Complete project tasks within deadlines and work within allotted project budgets.
• Coordinate work with other project managers, engineers, and designers.
• Correspond with clients and permit reviewers (written and verbal) under the direction of the Project Manager.
• Ensure quality control procedures are implemented.
• Market NV5 by involvement in professional and civic organizations.
• Other special assignments as directed.
