Job summary

NV5 seeks a focused Land Development Engineer to join our growing team. You will support planning, design, and delivery of commercial, residential, and institutional land development projects, collaborating with experienced professionals across disciplines.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Civil Engineering, at least 2 years of land development experience, an EIT, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Civil 3D and stormwater modeling is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum 2 years of land development experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Strong understanding of site civil engineering principles and land development practices.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering plans, designs, and drawings for land development projects.
• Perform site feasibility analyses, conceptual planning, and site layout design.
• Develop grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility, and erosion & sediment control plans.
• Support project permitting activities and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
• Conduct field investigations and site assessments as needed.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and modeling.
• Utilize Civil 3D, stormwater management software, and other engineering applications to produce project deliverables.
• Participate in project quality control reviews, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards.
• Coordinate effectively with internal teams, clients, consultants, and public agencies.

Responsibilities

As a Land Development Engineer, you will support the planning, design, and delivery of commercial, residential, and institutional development projects.
