Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience in land development, transportation, and water/drainage systems.
• Background in power distribution projects.
• Business development experience to identify opportunities and grow the client base.
• Experience with utility infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of construction and design feasibility.
• Strong project management, communication, and client relationship skills.
• Experience working with utilities such as ComEd, NIPSCO, AEP, or FirstEnergy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering projects from preliminary design through construction and as-built stages, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets.
• Oversee civil design plans, technical reports, construction documents, and utility installation designs.
• Manage and mentor engineers, designers, and drafting staff, providing technical guidance and reviewing work for accuracy and compliance.
• Build and maintain client relationships, identify new business opportunities, support proposal development, and contribute to business development and company growth.
• Coordinate with clients, utility companies, consultants, vendors, and construction contractors to resolve technical challenges and meet project requirements.
• Prepare and review proposals, contracts, cost estimates, and project specifications while managing project budgets and deliverables.
• Conduct site visits and field assessments to troubleshoot issues and ensure designs comply with applicable codes, industry standards, safety requirements, and client specifications.
