Job summary

Southern California Edison is seeking a Civil Engineering (Land Development) Manager to lead the civil engineering team responsible for land development and site civil support for transmission lines, substations, rights-of-way, access roads, and related facilities.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising engineering work.
• Experience in land development, grading, drainage, hydrology, stormwater, erosion control, or utility coordination.

Responsibilities

• Leads engineering and business initiatives to develop grid strategies and design approaches across the company’s infrastructure.
• Develops and maintains a project portfolio management system to prioritize projects, allocate resources, and monitor performance.
• Evaluates new technologies and methodologies to enhance project efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with external partners, vendors, and contractors to support project delivery and innovation.
• Coaches engineering teams on professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy, technology and safety program for future vision and employee/contractor well-being.
• Manages engineering teams providing emergent and routine trouble-shooting support for plant needs; coordinates with contract engineers for quality and milestones.
• Leads design and implementation of equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
• Develops goals for the engineering team and translates executive goals into actionable tasks.
• Protects company assets and sensitive information with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
