Job summary

Burns & McDonnell offers an Engineering Intern position in Denver, CO. The role focuses on applying standard engineering techniques across water market projects, including design updates and assisting lead engineers on diverse tasks.

Our Engineering Interns are responsible for performing tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures. Water

The Water group is responsible for the planning and design of facilities and processes related to drinking water supply, treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment, stormwater management, and more. This includes services for all levels of government and a variety of industrial clients.

• Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field from a recognized, accredited program required.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Compensation

$19.00-35.00 Hourly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location.
