Job summary

WSP USA invites motivated students to join the Summer Internship Program as a Civil Engineering Intern in our San Diego office. This full-time, 12-week internship provides hands-on experience on real projects under senior staff mentorship.

Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate Civil Engineering program with an anticipated graduation date after May 2028 and be eligible to work in the United States. The program runs May 17, 2027, with some flexibility on start date.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program.
• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interest in Civil Engineering and willingness to develop skills related to WSP's projects.
• Ability to interact with engineering and non-engineering audiences clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
