Job summary

Modjeski and Masters invites students pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering to join our internship focused on bridge design and analysis. You will assist in reviewing design calculations and support analysis of bridge components using professional software, while developing preliminary CAD details for contract plans.

You will gain exposure to LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, and MicroStation, under the supervision of senior engineers, while learning applicable design standards such as AASHTO,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited college or university.
• Completed at least two of the following courses: Concrete Design, Steel Design; Prestressed Concrete Design; Structural Analysis.
• Proficient with CAD tools and basic design software.
• Interest in bridge design standards and structural analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the review and verification of standard structural design calculations.
• Support the structural analysis and design of bridge components using engineering software tools.
• Help develop preliminary design details using CAD and coordinate with CAD technicians for contract plan development.
• Contribute to design reports by compiling relevant technical information.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, in a professional engineering environment.
• Review and check engineering drawings under the close supervision of a Senior Engineer.
