Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Newport Beach is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Summer 2027 program. You will work on real civil projects, assist with design and analysis, and learn from experienced engineers through hands-on mentorship.

This full-time, in-person internship requires 40 hours per week onsite at our Newport Beach office, with exposure to a broad range of markets and project phases from planning to construction.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Undergraduate students should have completed two years of coursework and be entering junior year or beyond by Summer 2027.
• Able to commit to a full-time summer internship (~40 hours/week) in Newport Beach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, analysis, and development of civil engineering projects.
• Gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related tools.
• Work with engineers and project teams to learn consulting workflows from design through construction.
• Participate in site observations and coordinate with stakeholders on project progress.
• Collaborate with the team on project discussions, planning, and problem-solving.
