Job summary

IMEG Corporation in Aberdeen, SD is offering a Civil Engineering Intern position for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist with engineering analysis, design, site inspections, reports, permit applications, and drainage/grading work under supervision of experienced engineers.

Eligible students complete at least 2 years toward a BS in Civil Engineering and should have interest in design consulting, CAD/BIM, and strong communication skills. Sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required.
• Strong interest in design consulting and civil engineering.
• Ability to clearly communicate in writing and in speech.
• May assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing.
• Experience with CAD, BIM, and MS Office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering analysis, design, field inspections, and report writing.
• Prepare permit applications, site drainage and grading designs, and documentation.
• Support project budgeting and cross-functional collaboration to meet goals.
• Research resources for commercially available equipment and materials.
• Maintain project notebooks and ensure design decisions are documented.
