Job summary

Bohler's Miami office is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) for Summer 2027 to gain real-world site design experience. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers on commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, using AutoCAD Civil 3D under mentorship.

You'll learn the land development process from concept to permitting, collaborate across teams, and observe field conditions while contributing to design improvements in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or related field.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred; training provided if needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site design and land development tasks under supervision.
• Support engineers, designers, and project managers throughout project stages from concept to construction.
• Contribute to drawings, zoning research, and coordination with jurisdictions.
• Visit project sites to observe conditions and learn the engineering process.

About The Role

Bohler's office in Miami, FL is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Intern (Land Development) eager to learn, grow, and contribute to real-world site design projects. As a Summer 2027 intern, you will gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm and understand the complete site development process, from concept to construction. By working alongside engineers, designers, and project managers, you will gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.

What You’ll Do

• Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm
• Learn the stages of the land development and site design process
• Enhance your technical skills with hands-on experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design:
• Concept plans
• Grading plans
• Stormwater management plans
• Utility system plans
• Soil erosion and sediment control plans
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to coordinate and drive projects forward
• Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions
• Visit sites to observe field conditions and see the engineering process in action
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements
