Job summary

Plaquemines Parish Government is seeking an Engineer Intern to assist the Chief Parish Engineer with civil projects such as roads, bridges, harbors, and drainage systems. This role offers hands-on experience under supervision and supports project teams across multiple civil infrastructure areas.

Candidates should have a BS in engineering, a valid Louisiana driver’s license, and be prepared for a post-offer medical examination and background checks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university.
• Transcript with practical coursework in engineering; 1–2 years related experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Satisfactory physical condition, including back, vision and hearing.
• Honesty and good moral/ethical behavior.
• Valid Louisiana Driver's License with satisfactory records.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer in directing civil engineering projects (roads, railroads, airports, bridges, harbors, channels, drainage systems, pipelines, power plants).
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor; report to the Chief Parish Engineer.
