Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking engineering students to join our Akron, Ohio office in 2027. This is not a remote position. Interns will gain hands-on experience in civil engineering design, planning, and analysis while learning software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D and GIS.

You will work with project teams to analyze deliverables, QC outputs, and ensure compliance with regulations and client standards.

Qualifications

• Working toward an ABET-accredited engineering degree (Bachelor's or Master's).
• Majors include Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering.
• Engineering Technology is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
• Assist in pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, and permitting.
• Solve complex problems and collaborate with project managers across disciplines.
• Learn and apply regulations and company standards on projects.
• Interns will learn software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, GIS, etc.
