Job summary

WGM Group in Bozeman, MT is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for summer 2027 to gain real-world experience across multiple disciplines. You will assist on civil design tasks, support survey crews, and help prepare estimates with exposure to plans, specifications, and reports.

The role offers hybrid scheduling, hourly pay with overtime eligibility, and exposure to diverse projects including public capital improvements and commercial sites.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
• Experience in AutoCAD Civil3D a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist on projects involving civil engineering tasks, planning, and design.
• Produce redlines on engineering documents using Civil3D.
• Provide survey support as a field crew member completing grade stake computations and marking.
• Perform construction observation and infrastructure testing for water and sewer.
• Assist in the preparation of cost estimate quantities.
• Conduct traffic counts.
• Maintain project files and databases.
• Support development of reports, calculation packages, and specifications.
• Depending on experience, may assist with designing plans for a wide range of projects including public capital improvement projects, commercial sites, and subdivisions.
