Job summary

Stantec is offering an intern opportunity in civil engineering in Boise, Idaho for students to work with senior engineers on diverse projects. You will gain practical experience in design, drafting, and field support while interacting with clients and communities.

You will develop drawings, specifications, calculations, and project documentation using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and GIS tools, with opportunities to learn BIM/Revit and collaborate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering.
• Basic understanding of civil engineering disciplines.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• MS Office; Teams and SharePoint a plus.
• Familiar with AutoCAD or Civil 3D; Bentley MicroStation a plus.
• Familiar with ArcGIS or GIS tools a plus.
• Willingness to learn BIM/Revit.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of engineers.
• Provide basic engineering design for projects.
• Develop drawings, plans, specifications and calculations.
• Use engineering software to complete tasks.
• Update documents to client/design revisions.
• Prepare reports and project documents.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment and info.
• Communicate with clients and consultants.
• Assist with construction oversight and field work.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Support client marketing and proposal development.
• Support project and team as needed.
