Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking engineering students to join our Warrenville, Illinois office for an internship. This is not a remote position and you will use software like AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D and more to analyze, design, and QC deliverables for clients.

You will support pre-construction civil engineering tasks, learn regulatory practices, and collaborate across disciplines with project managers and teams to help realize clients’ visions for the built environment.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree in progress (Bachelor's or Master's) in Civil/Environmental, Mechanical, Biological/Biosystems, Chemical, Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical software to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
  • Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to realize clients’ visions for the built environment.
  • Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, and with Kimley-Horn’s and clients’ practices and standards.
  • Interns will learn software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS
