Job summary

WSP USA invites students to join its Civil Engineering Internship in San Diego as part of the Summer Internship Program. This full-time temporary role targets undergrad/grad students enrolled in Civil Engineering programs.

The 12-week program begins May 17, 2027, with flexibility on start dates. Interns will gain exposure to real projects, mentorship from senior staff, and opportunities to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program with graduation May 2028 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interest in Civil Engineering and eagerness to develop skills on active projects.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from mentors and managers to execute tasks.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing and office software.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical and professional skills.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks and uphold safety policies.
