Job summary

AED Energy Services is seeking a Civil Engineering Department Manager to lead deliverables for critical infrastructure projects nationwide. You will collaborate with Engineers, CAD Designers, and Project Managers in design, development, and maintenance programs related to energy projects, including pipelines and water resources.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, 10+ years of experience, and a PE license is preferred.

Job description

Our team is seeking a Civil Engineering Department Manager to lead deliverables for various critical infrastructure projects nationwide. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work with Engineers, CAD Designers, and Project Managers in the design, development, and maintenance programs associated with energy projects, which may include pipeline design, land development, water resources, and permitting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning, organizing, and developing engineering activities for the construction and maintenance of pipelines, utilities, and associated improvements.
  • Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Performs permitting, field visits, and other tasks in support of engineering projects from beginning to completion.
  • Devising new approaches to problems and preparing or modifying drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs, and monitoring work for compliance to applicable codes, and accepted engineering practices.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams (including mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers) on projects.
Capabilities and Credentials
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 10+ years of professional work experience in infrastructure, including exposure/experience with water and sewer, pipeline, or energy-related projects. Water and sewer work preferred with an open mind to working on Oil & Gas projects; industry training will be provided.
  • Registered Engineer (P.E.) is preferred, or the ability to obtain a license.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydrologic modeling software (e.g. Hydraflow, Hydrographs, HydroCAD).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook.
  • Willingness to complete field work when required (field views, construction oversight) with travel up to 20%
  • Valid driver’s license.

The selected candidate should be eligible for employment in the U.S., possess a valid driver's license, and be prepared to pass periodic drug screening and a background check.
