This position is in the Water Treatment Division of Long Beach Utilities, which provides essential water, gas, and sewer services to the community.
The role involves assisting with managing capital improvement projects, regulatory compliance programs, and supporting environmental regulatory compliance efforts. Responsibilities include preparing plans and specifications, conducting proposal and bid analysis, managing project activities, and developing staff training programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field, or Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate recognized by the California State Board.
- Valid driver’s license or ability to arrange transportation for fieldwork.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in related fields, relevant work experience, coursework in environmental studies, interest in water treatment and environmental regulation, effective communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, ability to work independently.
