Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Chattanooga, TN is seeking engineering graduates to join our office in 2027. This is a non-remote position focused on pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, and analysis across multiple projects.

You will use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, GIS and related tools while learning regulations and client standards. This program offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities to contribute to real-world infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree required by Summer 2027.
  • Majors include Civil and/or Environmental Engineering, Mechanical/ Electrical/ Biological/ Biosystems/ Chemical/ Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
  • Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, collaborate across disciplines to realize client visions.
  • Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and company practices.
  • Learn software programs specific to disciplines: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS.
