Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. seeks a Civil Engineer specializing in water and wastewater design to join our Western PA office in Erie, PA.

Candidates must hold a Professional Engineer license in Pennsylvania and have a strong background in municipal projects. The role involves designing and preparing calculations and specifications for water, wastewater, stormwater, and municipal systems; reviewing plans; coordinating with clients; and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of water/wastewater experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania is required.
• Understanding of Pennsylvania regulations specific to sanitary sewers, water/wastewater treatment systems.
• Ability to work within multiple design disciplines and meet demanding schedules.

Responsabilités

• Design and prepare calculations and specifications for water, wastewater, stormwater, and general municipal projects.
• Prepare project plans for process water/wastewater, instrumentation and controls, site plans, and utility plans to support project approval and construction.
• Review civil engineering plans to ensure compliance with relevant codes.
• Evaluate and review stormwater management permits and plans.
• Interact with clients regarding ongoing and future public works projects.
• Attend meetings, including staff and municipal board meetings as needed.
• Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets/schedules.
• Prepare technical documents/reports.
• Stay informed of new technologies and participate in professional societies.

Responsibilities:

• Design and prepare calculations and specifications for various water, wastewater, stormwater, and general municipal projects
• Prepare project plans for process water/wastewater, instrumentation and controls, site plans, and utility plans to support project approval and construction
• Review civil engineering plans, including public infrastructure, private, commercial, and residential development plans to ensure compliance with relevant codes
• Evaluation and review of stormwater management permits and plans
• Interact with clients regarding ongoing and future public works projects
• Attend meetings, including staff meetings and municipal board meetings as needed
• Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets/schedules
• Preparation of technical documents/reports
• Actively participate in the water/wastewater industry, stay well-informed of new technologies, and participation in professional societies
• Support new business development by contributing to the company’s strategic planning, marketing, and business operations planning
• Assist with the preparation of requests for proposals (RFP’s)
• Assist project teams, mentor junior staff, and review project assignments

Qualifications:

• BS Degree in civil or environmental engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of water/wastewater experience
• A professional engineering (PE) license in the state of Pennsylvania is required
• Understanding of Pennsylvania regulations specific to sanitary sewers, water/wastewater treatment systems
• Ability to work within multiple design disciplines and meet demanding schedules

Requirements

• Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
• Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
• Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
• Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19\" or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.)
• Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
