Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineer with water resource experience to join our Alabama team. You will lead multi-disciplinary projects, mentor staff, and help grow our presence in the northern Gulf area.

Responsibilities include guiding design, client relations, and business development while delivering high-quality, compliant solutions for water supply, wastewater, and stormwater projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Alabama or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Minimum 5–10 years of civil, water resource and/or stormwater experience.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and mentoring staff.
• Strong client interaction and business development skills.
• Proficiency with CADD and cost estimating for projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as office co-leader and mentor to junior staff in our Alabama offices.
• Co-lead business development and client relations in Alabama and northern Gulf markets.
• Manage small to large civil/water resources projects through all lifecycle phases.
• Lead technical design, drawings, reports, and coordination with clients and partners.
• Monitor costs and schedules to stay on track and within budget.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and design approaches.
• Mentor staff and support HSSE, risk, and quality management practices.
