Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineer with water resource experience to join our Alabama team in Mobile or Birmingham. You will help lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary group, manage design efforts, and contribute to business development for water, stormwater, and related civil projects.

As part of a global firm, you’ll interface with clients, coordinate field activities, and ensure quality deliverables while growing our presence in the northern Gulf region.

Qualifications

• Experience with water supply, wastewater, civil engineering, and related projects.
• Experience with community resiliency projects, such as adaptive stormwater management, LID design, green infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of hydrology, stormwater management, water quality issues, and ecology, as well as wetlands delineation/mitigation design.
• Experience in FEMA Risk Map and/or floodplain/watershed studies is a plus.
• Experience in designing ecological restoration projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as office co-leader and mentor to junior staff in our Alabama offices.
• Co-lead our business development and client relations activities, primarily in the Alabama and northern Gulf-coast markets.
• Assist in the management and implementation of community resiliency, stormwater, water supply, wastewater, and civil engineering projects through all phases of a project lifecycle.
• Serve as a local technical lead, interfacing directly with clients and permitting agencies.
• Schedule, conduct, coordinate, and monitor field logistics for projects in urban and rural settings.
• Assist and/or lead the development of project scopes, budgets, and design approaches.
