Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Orange, CA office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 2+ years of experience to join their Land Development team. This is not a remote position.

You will work in a dynamic team on surface water management studies, hydraulic modeling, design tasks, flood studies, resiliency assessments, and green infrastructure planning, with mentorship and exposure to plan production and client interactions. Required ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree, Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with surface water modeling and/or design
  • ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT/IE certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Experience building and calibrating Hydraulic/Hydrology models (ICPR4, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SWMM)
  • ArcGIS experience; AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation a plus
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-initiative and ability to meet client deadlines
  • Python programming experience desired but not required

Overview

Kimley-Horn's Orange, CA office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 2+ years of experience to join their Land Development team. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate can expect to work in a dynamic team environment on a range of projects including:
    • Surface water management studies
    • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
    • Analysis and design
    • Flood studies, resiliency and vulnerability assessments
    • Green infrastructure planning and design
  • As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with surface water modeling and/or design
  • Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering
  • "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Experience building and calibrating Hydraulic/Hydrology models such as ICPR4, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), and SWMM
  • Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS (AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation a plus)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Python programing experience desired but not required

Salary Range:

$105,000 to $120,000
