Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Orange, CA office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 2+ years of experience to join their Land Development team. This is not a remote position.

You will work in a dynamic team on surface water studies, hydraulic modeling, analysis and design, flood studies, resiliency and green infrastructure design. The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, ITE/Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months), and experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
  • 2+ years of experience with surface water modeling/design.
  • Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • Experience building/calibrating hydrologic/hydraulic models (ICPR4, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SWMM).
  • Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS; AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a dynamic team on a range of surface water projects including hydrology/surface water studies.
  • Perform analysis and design tasks and participate in plan production and client interactions.
  • Contribute to flood studies, resiliency and green infrastructure design.

Overview

Kimley-Horn's Orange, CA office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 2+ years of experience to join their Land Development team. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate can expect to work in a dynamic team environment on a range of projects including:
    • Surface water management studies
    • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
    • Analysis and design
    • Flood studies, resiliency and vulnerability assessments
    • Green infrastructure planning and design
  • As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with surface water modeling and/or design
  • Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering
  • "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Experience building and calibrating Hydraulic/Hydrology models such as ICPR4, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), and SWMM
  • Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS (AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation a plus)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Python programing experience desired but not required

Salary Range:

$105,000 to $120,000
