Job summary

NY State Electric & Gas is seeking an Engineer - Civil to contribute to civil design for HV/MV/LV substations within Avangrid Networks, especially for NYSEG and RGE projects. The role involves writing specifications, maintaining design libraries, and collaborating with project teams to deliver innovative substation solutions.

The position reports to a Unit Manager and participates in industry associations. The project scope includes CLCPA-related goals and advancing transmission infrastructure

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET-accredited college/university.
3+ years' engineering experience.
Specialized advanced training is required or a graduate engineering degree.
Experience in electric transmission or distribution standards engineering and regulatory issues.

Responsibilities

Proactively identify and solve complex substation civil design problems with broad impact.
Develop alternate methods or concepts to resolve design challenges.
Lead the development and maintenance of design libraries and specifications for substations.
Work with cross-functional teams and project managers to meet project needs.
