Job summary

Verdantas in Mentor, Ohio seeks an Engineering Staff II with 2-4 years of civil-site and municipal engineering experience. The role focuses on planning, design support, and cost estimation for utility projects, including water and sewer systems, using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

You'll collaborate with project managers, deliver design reports, assist with permit submittals, and conduct site inspections while advancing sustainable infrastructure, water resources, and resilient communities through

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 2-4 years of experience in civil-site and municipal engineering.
• Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software is a plus.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred.
• EIT preferred.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical planning and design support on utility projects including storm and sanitary sewer collection systems, water distribution, and various other civil engineering projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations to support design.
• Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards.
• Prepare construction plans using AutoCAD 3D Civil 3D.
• Prepare plans and specifications for public bid.
• Prepare/assist with permit submittals.
• Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities.
• Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks.
• Document design changes and communications.
• Conduct on-site inspections as needed.
• Prepare project status and other reports.
• Assist Project Managers.
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc.
