Job summary

Atwell is seeking a Civil/Site Design Engineer to join their renewable energy team. The role focuses on designing utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System sites, developing grading and drainage plans, and performing stormwater analyses.

Responsibilities include coordinating with electrical and environmental teams, preparing permitting packages, and supporting projects from feasibility through construction. A BS in Civil Engineering and 2–5+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required or equivalent.
• 2–5+ years of civil/site design experience.
• Experience with grading, drainage, stormwater design, and utility layouts.
• EIT preferred; PE a plus.
• Renewable energy experience is preferred but strong civil site design background is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Design utility-scale Solar PV and BESS sites.
• Develop site grading and drainage plans for renewable energy facilities.
• Perform stormwater management and hydrologic/hydraulic analyses.
• Design site access roads, pads, erosion and sediment control, utility layouts, earthwork.
• Prepare civil construction plans and permitting packages.
• Coordinate with electrical, environmental teams, surveyors, and geotechnical engineers.
• Support projects from feasibility through construction.
• Assist with permitting and agency coordination.
