Job summary

DLZ Corporation is seeking a Civil Engineer specializing in site development in Ohio. The role supports planning, design, and delivery of public and private site development projects, working with project managers and junior staff to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities include site layout, grading, stormwater, utilities, and permitting, with a focus on constructible solutions and effective client communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Four+ years of civil engineering experience focused on site development.
• Experience preparing site design documents (grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, erosion control).
• Experience with commercial/industrial/mixed-use land development.
• EIT certification required for CE II; Ohio PE licensure required for CE III.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting processes.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office; hydrology/hydraulic modeling a plus.
• Experience coordinating tasks and reviewing junior staff work.
• Ability to manage schedules, budgets, and client deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Design site development projects of moderate complexity.
• Prepare and review site, grading, utility, and stormwater plans.
• Perform engineering calculations for grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, surveyors, and clients.
• Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and cost estimates.
• Support projects from planning through permitting, bidding, and construction.
• Review drawings and guide junior engineers and staff.
• Assist with schedules, budgets, and quality control.
