Great Bay Staffing Group in Asheboro, NC seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to lead land development and infrastructure projects from initial site feasibility through construction closeout.
This role offers ownership of commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential site work with direct access to firm principals and a clear path to senior project management and operational leadership; hybrid flexibility available.
$95,000 - $130,000 per year
Asheboro, North Carolina (Hybrid flexibility available)
This is a chance to lead land development and infrastructure projects from initial site feasibility through construction closeout — not just review someone else's designs. A growing, full-service civil engineering, structural engineering, and land surveying firm in Asheboro is looking for a licensed PE ready to take ownership of commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential site work, with direct access to firm principals and a clear track toward senior project management and operational leadership.
You'll work across the full spectrum of site civil engineering — from grading plans and erosion control to gravity sewer networks, water distribution, force mains, and pump station design. The firm operates with a flat structure, meaning your ideas reach decision-makers without layers of corporate bureaucracy. You'll seal your own deliverables as the authorized Professional Engineer, giving you real accountability and visibility on every project you touch.
Lead preparation of civil construction plan sets, grading plans, and site layouts
Design gravity sewer collection systems, water distribution lines, force mains, and pump stations
Run hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and design SCMs/BMPs, retention/detention basins, and conveyance networks
Navigate NC municipal ordinances and lead permit approvals through local jurisdictions and NCDEQ
Review engineering calculations, ensure design integrity, and seal deliverables as PE
Collaborate directly with in-house land surveyors, structural engineers, clients, and contractors
B.S. in Civil Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, or an ABET-accredited discipline
Active PE license in North Carolina, or licensure in another state with immediate NCEES reciprocity
4-8+ years of progressive experience in civil site design, municipal utilities, and land development
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD or equivalent stormwater modeling software, and Microsoft Office
Clear technical writing and client-facing communication skills, including comfort presenting to municipal review boards
Please note: this employer is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
Direct access to firm principals with a fast-track path to senior project management and operational leadership
End-to-end project ownership, from feasibility through construction closeout
A flat organizational structure without corporate red tape
Real-world site design challenges across multiple sectors
If you're a licensed PE looking for genuine ownership over site civil and municipal utility projects — and a firm structure that puts you close to leadership decisions rather than layers removed from them — this could be a strong next step.
