Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, or ABET-accredited discipline.
• Active PE license in North Carolina, or licensure in another state with immediate NCEES reciprocity.
• 4-8+ years of progressive experience in civil site design, municipal utilities, and land development.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD or equivalent stormwater modeling software, and Microsoft Office.
• Clear technical writing and client-facing communication skills, including comfort presenting to municipal review boards.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of civil construction plan sets, grading plans, and site layouts.
• Design gravity sewer collection systems, water distribution lines, force mains, and pump stations.
• Run hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and design SCMs/BMPs, retention/detention basins, and conveyance networks.
• Navigate NC municipal ordinances and lead permit approvals through local jurisdictions and NCDEQ.
• Review engineering calculations, ensure design integrity, and seal deliverables as PE.
• Collaborate directly with in-house land surveyors, structural engineers, clients, and contractors.

A growing, full-service civil engineering, structural engineering, and land surveying firm in Asheboro is looking for a licensed PE ready to take ownership of commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential site work, with direct access to firm principals and a clear track toward senior project management and operational leadership.
